Meet eight-year-old Alex Jones, a boy who knows his own mind. There are two things that he likes doing most of all - going to school and playing football, but there are three things that he doesn't like doing - having to go to bed at 9.00 p.m., having to listen to his older sister learning to play the flute, and having to eat food he hates. Alex needs some help and, luckily, in his case that 'help' turns out to be a magic dragon egg cup called Flicker. In a collection of delightful stories the reader follows the adventures of Alex and his magic dragon. What do you do if you want to eat something more exciting than boiled eggs for breakfast, have help with your homework, chase away a bothersome rat, help your sister to ice-skate properly, or tackle any number of annoying little problems that can occur every day? Don't worry about it. Just call on Flicker who, with a flick of his tail, will make the fun and magic begin!

What a great little find this was. I was looking for a new book to read to my great grandsons when they come to visit. Such a good story, the boys wouldn't let me stop reading until I got to THE END. I had never heard of the author before but as a new author she is really tuned into little people. I will look out for future stories

What a delightful wholesome fun book. Read it to my 8 year old twins at bed time and we all enjoyed the adventures of Alex and Fliicker his magic dragon.

Breakfast time introduces us to Flicker, an cup, who comes to life and encourages Alex to eat his boiled egg. Lots of magic happens including a grub appearing at the table.....

Horrible homework sees Flicker help Alex with his reading by imitating the words. Great fun.

Scruffy and the rat sees the family at home with dad sleeping on the couch. A rat appears on the window.. Mum sister Katey and Scruffy the cat next door with the help of flicker to get rid of the rodent. A fun adventure.
The kids and I greatly enjoyed the stories.

We had the pleasure of meeting Rose earlier this year, where she signed a copy of Alex and his Magic Dragon for my little boy.

He absolutely loved the book, he never put it down and talked about it loads. He is looking forward to some more stories.
