Clement and Oscar are two young rats on a gap year. Having done nothing but play computer games for months, a bored Clement comes up with an idea for an adventure! Borrowing an uncle's boat the two rats set sail to New York. A perilous journey ensues. Crossing the great Atlantic Ocean, they encounter sharks, whales, severe storms, and even a stowaway! Their lives change in ways they could never imagine, and the trip becomes more than just a holiday! Tested beyond their limits, relying on each other, how far can they go? And can they stop?

After a round the world, life changing trip he finally decided to put pen to paper.
Ian has lived all his life in Oxford and gets his inspiration from the world.

Illustrator Nina Launos, born in Finland. Living in Espoo with her husband and three children. She has studied Arts and Design in Finland, Latvia and Poland. She has also worked in the Netherlands as a Textile Designer. Since a child, Nina has been passionate about drawing and painting animals. She feels animals are her soul mates.
Her life has been filled with many different animals; guinea pigs, mice, gerbils, chickens, birds, cats, dogs and pet rats.
From her early years Nina has been influenced by her architect father who has been a strong role model in art for her. Her psychologist mother encouraged her to pursue her creative ideas and not to give up.
Nina gets her inspiration and ideas from animals, nature, forests and from the archipelago in Finland.
