John Gallacher grew up in Bath but went to a Christian Brothers School in Bristol. After studying History at Manchester University, he drifted into ‘The City’ where he specialised in the Scandinavian Stock Markets, first for the stockbroking firm of EB Savory Milln and later for Svenka Handelsbanken. In the recession of the early 1990s, he decided to become a solicitor and specialised in advising clients throughout the world on offshore matters ranging from tax-neutral locations to second passports. He lived in the Isle of Man and Dominica.
