Jack, The Pirate with a Secret is an illustrated book for children aged 4 to 8. It tells an action-packed story of a young boy named Jack who has a secret. He is a charming and courageous pirate who loves to lead and steer his ship, The Mucky Duck. His courage is a source of inspiration for his crew who look up to him for assistance. The children can use Jack’s story for finding their strengths and talk about them. Susan Brunt (Nanny Sue) is a retired primary school teacher. Throughout her career as a teacher, she has influenced many students to develop a liking for reading books and stories. She travels often and drives her inspiration for writing from these travelling experiences.

Paul Spelzini, the author of @#1crush and My Wonderful Fran, will be attending the Abbey Line Community Rail fun day, scheduled for Friday, 2nd July 2021, between 11 pm to 3 pm at Bricket Wood Parish Centre. The author will also be hosting a CCIF photo exhibition at the event. The entry to this explosive event is free of cost, but there are limited tickets due to COVID restrictions. Both of Paul Spelzini’s books revolve around the sensitive subject of mental health. @#1crush is about mental health and drug abuse, covering issues that many young people are facing in the world today. Whereas, My Wonderful Fran is an autobiography of the author daughter who committed suicide following a battle with mental illness. Paul Spelzini is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Building Engineer. He has been married for 31 years, having raised three children. Paul is also a voluntary station adopter with the Abbey Line Community rail partnership since its inception in 2005. Chiswick Book Festival is taking place from 9th-15th September this year. As exciting as it gets, our amazing author Lena Shah will also mark her presence as a speaker alongside 20 other authors. She will be speaking at the prior Waterstones Local Authors Party on Tuesday, 7th September at Boston Room, George IV. The timings for this gathering are 7 pm-9 pm. Impetus is the title of Lena’s poetry and prose of which she will be speaking at the event. The book has certain elements of a memoir as well. It contains both poetic verses and prosaic narration. As the first series of books, she has chosen the theme of minibeast and hopes that schools can also benefit from this series.
