Can they survive each other’s blows and the onslaught of the other? The author, Larry Boyd is the director of Different Degrees Theatre Ensemble. He has worked for twenty years in the field of disability art and before that, he has been a lawyer, teacher, arts administrator, youth worker and actor.

The author will talk about his brilliant Autobiography and share the inspiration behind writing it. The author will also present the signed copies of his book to the audience.   The book ‘Voices from the Past: The baby’ is a story of Cole family in London destroyed by World Wars. During the wartime, the family faced such a hard time that Percy Cole’s wife Jackie had to use all her approach to save the family from the poor house. The book is a sad and inspirational story of a family who fought their own separate battles.   The author Elizabeth Uywin was born and raised in Braintree in 1951 on her father’s farm. Later on, they moved to London. In London, she worked in the court service for many years. This is her first book of three which follows the life of a child called Mary. Currently, she lives in Chiswick.

Taylor Family YMCA will host a book launch ceremony of Margaret Scott’s ‘Jimmy Gets a Pet Passport’. The author will talk about this excellent children’s book and share the inspiration and lesson behind the story. ‘Jimmy Gets a Pet Passport’ is the story of Jimmy, which is a very kind and adventurous Dalmatian who likes to play with her other friends in the sun. Jimmy doesn’t like to visit the vets and this is her least favourite part. Jimmy’s new mother had to move to Scotland. Therefore, she had to go to the vet to get a pet passport so that she could fly on an aeroplane. This means that Jimmy has to overcome her fear. Margaret Scott hails from Scotland and she grew up in the North East side of the country. She studied Sports Development and Health Promotion in the University and spent nine summers as a Camp Counselor, Unit Leader and Sports Director at Camp Blue Ridge in Northern Georgia, USA.
