The author of ‘Gemma Makes Her Mark’ will be at the Prescot Library in The Prescot Centre for an event of his latest book. The sequel to ‘Murder: On Your Mark’, the book catches up with Mark while he is serving his sentence for murder. While incarcerated he meets a woman named Gemma. She is a probation officer. The two hit it off and they enter into a relationship after Mark’s release. But what he doesn’t know is that Gemma has ulterior motives of her own. She wants revenge on her mother and believes that he can help her get it. This brings back old tendencies in him and brings the story to a dark climax. Dr. Ian Marsh has been a university lecturer for many years and has taught, researched and written widely on crime and criminal justice and has authored many different academic books on the topic. This is his second published novel.
The author of ‘The Darwin Code’ and ‘The Einstein Code’, J. D. Welch, will be at The Geronimo Festival at Arley Hall in May. She will do a reading for fans in attendance, lead a code-cracking workshops and she will also sign copies of her books. The authors love for science and code breaking is apparent in her books. The book ‘The Darwin Code’ is intriguing and full of danger and mystery. Ben and his mother Sue escape danger and continue to pursue people who mean to launch a deadly poison. ‘The Einstein Code’ is full of cryptic messages and puzzles as Ben follows a trail to find his mother. No one believes that she has been abducted so it is up to him to locate her. Jo spends her time taking care of her family and writing. She has held different management roles after getting a Chemistry degree from Oxford.
Philip J. S. Jones will be at The Haslemere Bookshop in April, for a book signing of ‘A Peruvian Diary’. Philip left his old life behind and decided to dedicate his life to charitable activities. He travelled to Peru in pursuit of such tasks. His aim was to help build a soup kitchen but that is not what he ends up doing. He faces danger at every turn. The unique wit and writing style takes the readers to the time and place that the writer was in. The author attended the Vine Comprehensive School in Basingstoke. He loves travelling and his work allowed him to do visit many different countries. His experiences inspired him to write this delightful and instructive read.
Tara Ingham’s fantasy novel ‘Once I Rise’ is finally here. The launch event for the book will be held at The Letter Lounge Café & Gifts in April. The otherworldly novel introduces readers to a place where victims of unjust deaths are present. There are also revenants in this place, who help these victims. Once such revenant is Jonathan. He has the ability to interact between the real world and the world of the dead. He comes by a Jane Doe and tries to find out what happened to her. That will be difficult as she doesn’t have any memory of what occurred before she woke up in this new world. Tara has been writing since she was only 14 years old. She studied creative writing and literature at University.
The international children’s author of ‘Harry, A Cat’s Tale’, Sue Lawrence will be opening The Old Basing Book Exchange at the Old Basing Recreation Ground in early April. The community project is an excellent initiative to promote reading. The author will also do a reading of the book after the ribbon cutting. The inspiration for her book was her very own cat, stories about the cat soon became a funny children’s book. Harry, the protagonist of the story, is a large Tabby cat who moves to a new home and gets into all sorts of amusing situations. Sue currently resides in Hampshire but before that she lived in London. Her imagination tells the story of her cat which goes on adventures and she keeps on writing about them. This is where Kiki the mouse lives. One day his mother allows him and his siblings to go out and explore the world. He learns a lot of lessons in this single excursion and ends up on a ship to Australia. The writing contains the author’s quick wit and quirky sense of humor. Writing has been her interest for the longest time and this is her first novel, published by Austin Macauley Publishers.
Author of ‘Mr. Nolly and the Magic Ladder’, Lynda Ann Green, will visit the Black Country Radio Station for an interview. She will talk about her book and the success it is currently enjoying. The story of Witch Willowberry’s magic ladder begins when it is accidentally discarded. It is thrown away and the witch is no longer able to catch moonbeams for her spells and she is very cross. Meanwhile, the ladder finds its way into the hands of Mr. Nolly. He is very surprised when the ladder starts speaking to him and even more so when it makes his cat talk as well. But the witch wants the ladder back. It is up to Mr. Nolly and the rest of the group to make sure that she doesn't get her hands on the ladder.
