Martin Hignell

Martin Hignell was born in Wandsworth, London. At the age of five, his father moved the family to Fleet, in Hampshire, to begin a new job, eventually becoming the landlord of the Queen’s Head Public House in the Domesday-quoted village of Dogmersfield. The author left the village and joined the Cunard Line on the QE2 at the age of just 15. He spent his life living and working all around the world. Eventually, after 60 years, returning to where he started in the London Borough of Wandsworth, where he now lives overlooking the picturesque Richmond Park.
