Peter was brought up in South London and Kent in the 1960s, the adopted son of George and Mary Gerloff. He has interests ranging from music, medieval history, interesting and obscure facts, walking for exercise, and is a lifelong Arsenal FC fan. He lives in Merseyside with his partner, and did not start writing until his early 60s. They lived in France for 3 years returning in 2019.
