Born in 1945, the author is an artist and sax player. Art school trained, he took up writing as another way of creating pictures, this time in people’s heads. He lives with his long-time partner in an end terrace and likes jazz-trance and the science fiction of Iain Banks. He wrote Light Bulbs while on dialysis trips to hospital. Despite his age, he is still a cool dude!
