Kathryn West started her professional career within the corridors of power at Parliament, where she worked for several MPs. After reading a chance advert in a newspaper, she decided to apply for a graduate scheme being run by the Metropolitan Police Force. Successful in her application, she spent the next thirty years as an officer dealing with both the best and worst of humanity across London.
