David O. Ross
David O. Ross is Professor Emeritus of Latin and Greek at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and is the author of four books on Virgil and other Latin poets. He has three sons and no dogs, cats, or fish. In retirement he reads, stalks birds, grows tomatoes, watches baseball, and used to take long walks. Two years as a draftee in the army (long ago) provided some personal experience for General Smudge.
John Donovan is a senior at Yale University majoring in Art History and Studio Art, though he claims that his mother, an art teacher, taught him all he knows about drawing. He has a sister and two dogs and likes to cook. After graduating he expects to teach art and, of course, to continue with his own drawing and painting.
