Shirley McLaughlin
Shirley McLaughlin writes from a lifetime of experience in the people business, at home and abroad. She undertook her first contribution to worthy causes when she turned 18 and volunteered to an American non-profit organisation to help the refugees on the sampans in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong.
Her career as a TV writer, producer, and compere began in her early 20s, followed by purchasing and running a very successful entertainment agency. In her 30s, she began writing freelance whilst working fulltime in a managerial and consulting capacity for a national human resource company.
She loves travel and has worked for a multi-national company, based in Oklahoma City. She also helped build an international sports sponsorship business in London. She spent several years part time as an official visitor ‘watchdog’ for the Mental Health Authority in New South Wales and worked for a decade part time for her alma mater, Stott’s Off Campus Business College, as a writer, tutor, and editor for their Australian and intercontinental students.
After retirement, she has decided to take on this project to help others achieve their goals.
