John Christophe was adopted, sent to a private school staffed by ex-military; character building, then Grammar, then out to work. He discovered his adoption only in his 40s. A pivotal and haunting moment.
His natural talent for drawing, his acute sense of right and wrong and his desire for knowledge have moulded his life. He studied for a PhD, was headhunted to lead several international design projects, can fly a light aircraft, pilot a boat, ride a motorcycle and loves classic cars. Should have kept some.
But his real passions are his wife, family, wildlife, nature and the environment.
While reading John Christophe's dystopian novel 297, my thoughts fluctuated between belief and disbelief. It was written from a point in the Earth's future, 2051, and looks back at events from 2028 that shaped our world. It is written in brief descriptions of what had happened during that time. It is both terrifying and believable. Robots and humans are interacting. The robots are winning the battle of taking over the Earth that humans have destroyed. This book covers a wide breadth of thought provoking material. It is a must read for anyone interested in the future and fragility of humanity. The primary message is that we must stop destroying the planet.
A brilliant read. John Christophe has a way of making every scene feel alive and captivating. It’s thought provoking and brilliantly written. Highly recommend this book.
