Deep in the wilderness of Western Australia live four numbat pups and their mother Natalie. Each day, Natalie must consume many thousands of termites for sustenance and to provide enough milk for her young. Throughout the year they have survived together peacefully. On this particular day, however, things are different. With termites scarce and her pups still too small to leave the burrow, Natalie must venture further into the woodland, a place fraught with many dangers…

David Grant Lloyd was born July 3, 1979. He attended the University of Wollongong and received his MCA in 2003. His collection of poems Alive in Dubbo won the 2022 Flying Islands Poetry Manuscript Prize and was subsequently published. A Day in the Life of Natalie Numbat is his first children’s book.

Calla Santos was born December 20, 1987, in Manila Philippines and now resides in Melbourne, Australia. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in multimedia arts from De La Salle – College of St. Benilde, Philippines. A visual artist with seven years’ experience in the art industry, four years creating 2D and 3D digital assets for games such as Sims 3, seven years teaching college students’ digital animation using Adobe Flash and 5 years teaching the visual arts to early childhood and elementary students. She works mostly with acrylics.
