A little soldier is facing surgery; an unknown journey full of fear. The day has an early and hungry start, with thoughts running wild.

This nervous adventure turns into an opportunity to meet magicians with potions, be amongst pirates, swim from sharks, take a launch within a spaceship, and most importantly, eat jelly and ice-cream.

After being thrown into the deep end, the soldier’s spectacular bravery is brought out by a dazzling team in blue pyjamas.

Jai Seth is an intermittently-dieting NHS doctor, Consultant Surgeon, biscuit-in-tea-dipping university lecturer, aspiring vegetarian, who sadly went bald too early in his life, and a tired father of three tireless children. His passion for supporting patients through surgery, working in a hospital with such talented colleagues and so many incredible people, is rivalled by his enjoyment of storytelling, making his children giggle, and generally most things silly.

Whilst having published numerous medical texts, he takes a dive into the world of children’s stories so every now and again he can hop onto a page, fold it into a paper plane, and take a flight. A Day to be Brave was born and completed during some respite whilst Jai was recovering from a second bout of COVID.
