Angela Leite was born in Vouzela, Portugal, in the district of Viseu. She graduated with a degree in Philosophy from the University of Lisbon and was a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation scholarship holder at the University of Caen, France where she studied Education Sciences. She is holder of various honours, including the Melvin Jones Fellowship for Dedicated Humanitarian Services, the golden medal of merit bestowed by the Municipality of Oeiras, and was recognised by the Marquês de Pombal Foundation, in 2019, among those who shaped Oeiras in the last 250 years.
