Based on a true story, the book is a history witness of lifelong scars of a little girl, now a woman with a stolen past, gone forever, evaporated as if it never existed, so nostalgic it makes your chest hurt. A woman with unshakable faith, but despite today’s privileged peace around her in Scotland, it could not bring back the lost times and treasured memories of her birth place.
K Moshe, born as a child with no dreams of only chasing dragonflies and watching trains passing by. She was born in a town in the north of Iraq. She travelled to England to study and found herself stranded as her country of birth was in war with the Britain and the West. Now she is a mother, a woman with a different accent and with a story to tell. In her first debut book, she has captured the life experience of a lost generation of Iraq, torn by wars and scared by its aftermath. At present, she lives in a town in Scotland.
