David Le Grys aka Legro is a cyclist. He has raced at international and national level all over the world. David is also a coach and has studied NLP (Nero Linguistic Programming).
He has won 35 national elite/professional and masters championships, nine European Masters Championships, and 24 World Masters Championships.
David took a break from cycling during the early ’90s while he was national sprint coach and began running to keep fit. He started with local fun runs and went on to run marathons, his best time being 2 hours 38 minutes, he eventually got back into cycling and racing again by competing in duathlons (run-bike-run).
His fastest speed on a bike was 110 mph behind Tom Walkinshaw’s racing saloon car on the M42, the motorway was loaned to Dave for a day by the MOT but was unfortunately rained off before his next attempt of 135 mph.
David is now retired from racing. Many years of crashes and vigorous training has finally caught up with him, however, back surgery, open heart surgery and rheumatoid arthritis has not stopped him from riding his bike, so beit a little more leisurely.
Broken Heart is just one chapter of David’s life on how he dealt with open heart surgery and the journey to recovery.
