  This YA novel is wholesome, funny, and kind of crazy. It’s about Nora who finds out her mom is not really her mom, her dad works for the CIA, and her biological mom is a Russian assassin. Well, if you couldn’t tell already, this makes for a great novel!
  
  Nora’s world turns upside down. She just moved to Dubai and met her new best friend Al. While Nora is trying to figure out who she is, she’s also trying to find out who her mom is. (Her mom, who’s either trying to protect or assassinate her, only one way to find out I guess). Although she’s faced with insane challenges and setbacks, she pushes through. This makes for a thrilling but funny story.
  
  I found it a lighthearted read, even though the book deals with the heavy topic of finding your roots. It showed issues of trust and feelings of loneliness in an environment where deceptions and lies were dominant. I think this is greatly captured in a wholesome YA novel that has a surprising plot that left me smiling.
  
  It’s a great read for people of all ages. I think no matter our age, YA books can bring us back to our high school years and are still relatable at older ages. The emotions and feelings are lightheartedly described in this genre, giving comfort and joy.
  
  Definitely read this book if you want to read a joyful read that contains humor, a captivating mystery and surprising plot!

  Dear Maisie, I’m Sorry is a fun and fast-paced YA / middle-grade thriller. I read this in one sitting and really enjoyed it! The characters were so loveable and there were so many unexpected twists. Despite the heavy topic of a young teen figuring out her identity and her roots, it’s a light-hearted and intriguing novel!
