After hearing that his mum’s cancer had returned, Harry felt an overwhelming darkness around him and his family. A dark cloud loomed over him and it felt like it would never leave. Struggling to make sense of everything, Harry’s world crumbled around him.

A heart-felt and thought-provoking true story which dives into the abstract mind of a child whose mum is dying of cancer.

Harry Hillier is a Deputy Headteacher of a primary school who is committed to helping children learn and grow as young people. Through his teaching, he wants children to know that anything is possible if they trust their own potential and believe in themselves.

Harry began writing as a teenager in his diary. Through his years of teaching, he has found how picture books can open the minds of the young and old with their hidden meanings and different structures.

In his spare time, Harry enjoys adventures with his family, playing with his two young sons, reading, cooking for friends, playing rugby, and keeping fit and healthy.

What a beautiful book sharing such a heartbreaking experience. I think anyone (of any age) losing a loved one can take something special away from this inspiring story.
