Lucie the beaver feels left out because she is different from the rest of her family. One day a storm threatens to destroy the dam in which her and her family live but Lucie is strong and Lucie is brave. Can this extraordinary beaver save her home?

Anna Piper resides in a small village in Lancashire with her son Eli. Throughout her education she has always focused on creative subjects such as art and textiles and has a BA Hons in fashion and innovation.

Painting has always been one of Anna’s hobbies and in the lockdown of 2020 she had the idea to write and illustrate a children’s storybook. Through inspiration from reading to her son and his love of animals and nature she created the loveable and courageous character of Lucie the beaver who is now a household name!

As well as this project Anna also paints houses, gardens and animals, all from a small space in her home in the evenings. She has a range of prints made from her paintings and often collaborates with other artists and influencers.

Anna continues to write stories and hopes to release more children’s books in the future.

If you love reading stories to your children that have punchy relatable storylines that celebrate self-love, then Lucie is the perfect addition to your bookshelves. I am immensely impressed with Anna Piper and her colourful and somehow soothing illustrations that guide the reader from start to finish. In love!

Really refreshing story for both a child and adult to follow. I love how it expresses the differences in them but that's ok, we can be different and achieve different things.

The illustrations are lovely and love the colour tone of the book.

Another positive, this is my daughter's name, and it is so nice that she sees something with the name spelled the same way :)

    Highly recommend.
