In a modern-day fairy tale, Nesta, a witch yearning to make a difference, is joined by her cat, Paisley, and her avian companion, Bird. Together, they are entranced by Earth’s breathtaking beauty but deeply distressed by the harm inflicted upon it. From the polluted oceans to vanishing forests and smog-ridden skies, Nesta and her companions conjure spells in a desperate attempt to heal the planet. Yet, their magic alone isn’t enough. As they work a frosty spell over the gleaming yet vulnerable North Pole, a message of hope resonates worldwide. Can Nesta’s enchantments inspire real change?

Anna Sutton was born in Snowdonia in 1963 during a freezing winter of deep snow and unforgiving ice. After a family move, Anna grew up in an Oxfordshire town on the winding river Thames. The starkly contrasting locations have been the inspiration for her writing and illustrations, combining the magic of the Celtic past with the modern environmental reality of today. Traditional elements of children’s stories, mythology, and fairy tales, combined with meteorological and environmental themes are central to Anna’s books.
