'Cookie liked picnic too,
With whatever she could retrieve and chew…
In the jaws of this cheeky little pup
Was anything she could find and excitedly pick up.
Each day a precious item, from the Ledger family, she would seek.
With a lunge and a tug, swift with the goods, she would retreat.
This mischievous chocolate brown Labrador pickle
Just wanted attention, to play, have a tickle.
In time she would settle down, and show her love.
With the Ledger family she would fit like a glove.'

At 40 years of age, Debbie resides with her three beautiful children and partner of 23 years in the picturesque village of Woldingham. Having spent her career tackling numbers in accounts, Debbie decided to take some time to explore her creative side and love for children’s stories and poetry. Debbie takes inspiration from the things she loves most: her family, the fun times they have together, and of course ‘Cookie’ the cheeky Labrador.
