In Passions: A Story of Love, or, A Bipolar’s Diary, the author unveils a deeply emotive and transformative poetic journey. The work is divided into two compelling parts: ‘Points of Passions – Solitude,’ which explores the isolation of a woman set apart from society, and ‘Lines of Passion – A Movement,’ where she re-emerges, her creative spirit reignited during a bus ride to work.

Caught in an intricate emotional web, the protagonist finds herself falling in love with three different men, adding complex layers to her story. The author’s skilful narrative combines both delicate and intense imagery, expressed through poetry and visual art. This dual medium not only helped the author navigate a critical juncture in her life, but also led to profound self-discovery.

Crafted with authenticity and directness, the book offers an emotional odyssey that is both complex and relatable. In the end, it delivers a message of hope and assurance, capturing the ever-changing tapestry of life and the healing power of art and poetry.

Lena Simes was brought up in a city/countryside where sports became a family theme. She left home at the age of sixteen, going to high school, and then university studies in architecture. At the age of 29, the author finished university studies. And finally accomplished work in Oslo. The writing went on, as well as the painting. Lena had successful years of selling paintings, while still working as an architect. The painting was mainly done with drawings, with the continuation of writing. There was considerable work after “life happenings” to put pieces together to form the poem Passions – A Story of Love.
