This is a great book for children in a really important theme - too much plastic in the ocean. I love the fact that it's written in such an engaging way. It will capture children's imagination from a very young age as well as making them think about how we should not be polluting our shores. I also like the emphasis on diversity as the main character has a prosthetic leg.

I was very happy to read a sequel to Miss Carmen's first book about Matthew and Sprite. This story has such great rhymes, and the pictures are very nice and fit really well with the story. I especially liked the ending, the idea of seeing the ocean bottom was so surprising, I wish it could happen in real! We would then see what we can do to help creatures living in the ocean and save them from suffering. Miss Carmen was my nursery teacher, and she read many stories about animals and nature. She is a person with a big heart and is not afraid to say what she thinks. It shows in her books. I will wait for the next story about Matthew and Sprite!

    Dear Carmen,

I am writing to say how thankful I am for your second book. It’s brilliant! The rhyming was brilliant so were the illustrations. The message you share is very important. I would give it 5 out of 5. I can't wait to read your next book about Christmas.

My grandkids were absolutely thrilled at having your inscription on the first page; and after many weeks of giving them these books which they enjoyed and loved so much, I wanted to read them a bedtime story and out of their huge library, they point at your two books again. They love these stories and the colourful pictures so much and they have learned a lot about pollution and conservation because of Sprite and the turtles. These two books “Matthew and the Magic Goat “and “Sprite and the Two Talking Turtles” are two of their favourites ever, and all children should really have them!! Thank you, Carmen, for writing these beautiful books and we can't wait to get your Christmas storybook!
