Born in London, Alan Kemp dedicated 30 years to working for the National Health Service before deciding to opt for a quieter life on a three-acre smallholding in Lincolnshire. Alan found himself looking after and caring for numerous orphaned lambs, chickens, geese, cows, pigs – the list goes on. So much for the quiet life! Currently, Alan resides in rural Dorset pursuing an even quieter life.

Really enjoyed this book start to end

We were lucky enough to have Alan visit our school to read 'The Adventurous Fly' to our youngest two classes. Both the reception and year one children were totally engrossed in the story and hung on his every word! They were also very excited to meet a real life author! Thank you so much for sharing your heart warming story with the children Alan. We are already looking forward to your next visit when 'Special Friends' is published...
