  Judeth Fenton’s debut children’s book has all the elements of a ‘good’ book! ….. a story, colour, adventure, heroism and some good down to earth life wisdom for today’s readers both young and old. Easy to read, the chapters guide you effortlessly into the life of its main hero, Rainbow Rabbit, who, under the guidance of his mentor, Great-Uncle Corduroy, embarks on a quest to regain his lost coloured patches. As the story unfolds the reader is introduced to various characters – wolves, a hyena, rabbits, an owl, bears and badgers, and others - who all play a part in Rainbow’s predicament, friends old and new, whose influence will profoundly affect Rainbow and helping him to find his true self. Enticed into reflection the reader is gently taken on a journey of discovery, perhaps revisiting his or her own life or that of someone close to them. The author, unafraid to describe the real difficulties facing minority groups and anyone labelled different, manages to remain unprejudiced by always presenting the other side of the situations. The lessons to be learnt from the book are many. Negative or positive, all powerfully presented for what they are, the author highlights in a convincing way what really matters in life - friendship, family love, freedom to be oneself, forgiveness and mercy -, important for all ages and all age groups. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and found it difficult to put down! I am hoping that Judeth will soon be encouraged to write a follow up to this exciting new book.
