Beatrice the Bumblebee doesn’t want to be a bee. She wants to be something else, even if it is only for one day. In fact, she has quite a bee in her bonnet about it!

This children’s picture/story book, aimed at 5-7 year olds, introduces lots of vocabulary and animals with the “be” “bee” and “bea” sounds to help children learn about words with similar sounds, but different spellings.

Alli Rogers, the youngest of four girls, was born in Singapore in 1962 and spent many of her childhood years living abroad courtesy of her fathers job in the Foreign Office. She attended The University of Nottingham and went on to join a prominent banks graduate training programme, staying in banking for ten years before having her three children. This is Allis third childrens picture/story book and her debut novel published in 2014 was nominated for The Peoples Book Prize.

What a fabulous book for children to learn how different “B” words have different spellings and meanings, a delight to read and a lovely tale about loving oneself. Highly recommended.

Lovely funny book which helps young children with their 'bee' sounding words. Thoroughly recommend.

This is a fantastic children’s book. We bought it for our 5-year-old cousin who absolutely loved it. Thoughtfully written and beautifully illustrated, it teaches children about the breadth of vocabulary and pronunciation within different ‘B’ words, but all tied together with an uplifting story about gaining happiness within your own skin. Lovely!
