In this insightful and thought-provoking selection of poems, the reader is taken on a journey through life and death, love and heartbreak, joy and hardship: in other words, human existence in its myriad aspects.
Written in deceptively simple language and often in the form of homilies and riddles, these poems cast the familiar in an unfamiliar light.
Skilfully employing repeating patterns, personification and metaphor, the author offers a compelling reflection on who we are and how we navigate the world around us.

Mary Joseph lives in London, England.
She shares her busy schedule with family and friends while working in the financial service of a private company, enjoys looking after her bunnies and being a musician.
She decided to write this book and share her passion with her readers.

What a great read from start to finish and getting to know the life of a funeral director and it was great following Annie’s journey through all her ups and downs and it really takes someone with empathy and compassion to deal with all the families at their saddest time in their lives. It really pulled the heart strings when Annie lost her beautiful sister. Congratulations on a fantastic book!

An excellent first offering from this new author. Cleverly written, well paced and covering all aspects of an emotional roller coaster for both the author and the reader. This is an enjoyable and entertaining read that takes us on an insiders tour of an industry that is shrouded in mystery for most. Looking forward to the next stage of this very human journey.

This book approaches a difficult subject with compassion and humour. It had me laughing at the quirky situations Anni found herself in, and at her honesty and humour in how she responded. I learned a lot about the complexities of the funeral industry and have a new level of respect for the challenges they face. All in all, a lovely lighthearted look at death and what happens next.

I really enjoyed reading about the life of a funeral director. I am amazed at Annie’s strength to deal with the myriad of roles she learnt and how she cares for the families of people who have sadly passed away. I never had any idea of just what is involved. Looking forward to the next special book ❤️
