I was quite intrigued by this tragic tale of clashing cultures written by Jesus Macie. It led me into all kinds of interesting research into polygamy, specifically Christianity and polygamy in sub-Saharan Africa and in Mozambique in particular. It also pushed me into some interesting reading on the possible prevalence of witchcraft in Mozambique. So it set me off on a fascinating journey that I won't forget!
