The Ocean, Swords and Flowers contains some 80 haikus, arranged in three sections. The book also includes many beautiful and evocative illustrations by the author.

Rei is a new author with a background in the creative arts. As a way to steer through loss and heartbreak, she started drawing, painting and writing poems to condense, preserve and express these memories and emotions.
She spent her childhood on the beautiful island of Guimaras in the Philippines, surrounded by turquoise waters and fresh air. Nature has always been a constant inspiration and a reminder of home, which is why it has been a recurring theme throughout her work.
