The Spirit of the EarthA creative journey into the soul of mother nature.Humanity is ‘part-of’ and not ‘apart from’ Nature and the Earth. We rely on her for everything that we stand for, which is why it’s so important to look after her. This book is a restorative journey, expressed in photographs and creative words. It conveys the process of regaining our true nature by reconnecting with Mother Nature. There are four processes, in which I have travelled the journey from the beginning, and which can be a guide for others to emulate…Reflection, Reconnection, Strength and Growth, and, finally, Change and Transition. The Creative Spirit is the bridge to becoming connected to the Spirit of the Earth once more. And when we have reconnected to Mother Nature, then we are able to heal our inner nature and fulfil our true purpose.

Author Vernon Hutter lives in the South West of England, near to Exmoor and is a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Ecotherapist. He has worked in many different therapeutic settings, including general counselling, Ecotherapy, criminal justice and with young offenders in the community supporting drug and alcohol services. 23 years ago, at the age of 28, Vernon was working as a builder when he suffered a head injury which left him paralysed. After three years of rehabilitation, he beat all the odds and overcame his injury to return himself back to where he was prior to the accident.

A huge part of Vernon’s rehabilitation began after leaving the hospital. This is when he immersed himself in nature to help him heal on a physical, psychological, and spiritual level. Vernon has always been a big believer and advocate in Mother Nature as a healer, alongside traditional western medicine. Today Vernon is passionate about working with people to help heal via Mother Earth and develop their connections to nature through their own creativity and sense of self.
