Twins Tom and Maisie are starting a new school in Year 8, not long after the death of their beloved mum. Life has not been easy for them; they cannot rely on each other all the time.

Peter H. Stone was a teacher all his working life and he now supports a local church and school in Eastbourne, England where he lives with his wife. He loves living by the sea, reading novels and watching cricket. He has four grown-up children and four grandchildren, two of whom live in Sydney, Australia. One of his teachers was William Golding who wrote Lord of the Flies.
