Alison doesn't seem to fit into the stereotype of being a girl and is constantly asked the question: "Why can't you just be a normal girl?" Through inner conflicts and confusion, Alison journeys into the definition of what it means to be 'normal'. Accepting the beliefs of significant people in her life, the journey proves challenging when who Alison really is and what she does are at controversy. What is it that makes Alison different to every other girl? How will Alison manage the struggles of being different? And… what does it really mean to be 'normal'?
Stav enjoys playing sports and wrote her first book on similar challenges that she has faced whilst growing up as a girl who strayed from social norms and played football. She hopes that her book helps to breakdown stereotypes and encourages everybody to challenge social norms.

I have not read this book but it is the sort of book that I feel that anyone who feels that they are different to what some people regard as normal should perhaps read. Especially at this time when there is so much vitriol flying around concerning people who feel that they do not fit into the so-called “normal" mould. It would not hurt those who feel that they are normal, ( whatever that means), to read as well.
