Swoosh! What is that noise?Willy and Wally hear a strange noise (again!) and set out to investigate – Swoosh! Yes that noise!Willy and Wally are windscreen wipers. But they’re no ordinary windscreen wipers! These windscreen wipers come to life when people (that’s you and me) are not looking. Next time you are in a car with your family, take a look. But don’t touch them! They may be special too.Our mischievous windscreen wipers (as in cheeky monkeys!) are helped by their friends. There’s Milly and Molly the mirrors, ‘Enery the engine, Horatio the headlight and Boddington the bumper.Swoosh! There’s that noise again.I first met Willy and Wally on a journey to London many, many years ago. It was raining and they did a grand job in keeping the windscreen clear and so kept me safe. Swoosh! Hang on! There it is again.I think we had better find out what all this swooshing is about!
Originally from just outside Newcastle-on-Tyne, Kevin Thomson has lived just outside Abingdon-on-Thames for the last 30 years. He has two children and two grandchildren and is very proud of them all. Working in marketing and design most of his life as sales director, copy writer and creative director, gave Kevin the kick he needed (finally!) to write Willy and Wally, his first children’s book.
