Originally from Rathcormac, Ireland, he joined the RAF at just seventeen, rising to the rank of Squadron Leader before transitioning to a career as a university bursar in Durham, where he still works today. Michael Daly's remarkable journey has earned him recognition, including an MBE for military service in 1985 and the Freedom of the City of London in 2016.
