David Hawker to be Interviewed by the BBC Radio Cornwall
David Hawker will be featured in an interview with BBC Radio Cornwall for his book, Medicine in the Mountains. The interview will be live on 1st August 2022 at 12:10 PM. During the interview, the author will share his writing struggles and will answer questions about the story.
Medicine in the Mountains shares a dramatic story against the backdrops of broad brush strokes of Nepal's history and geography. The book shares the vision of Nurse Ellen Findlay and surgeon Mike Smith pioneered in expanding medical care to some of Nepal's poorest and most isolated communities after the massive earthquake of 2015. David Hawker was born in Surrey and studied at the Kingston Grammar School. He studied Medicine in Edinburgh and specialised in Anaesthetic in Pokhara, Nepal. His first book Kanchi Doctor was the biography of one of Nepal’s first surgeons.
