Beside a Stranger is Christabel's debut poetry collection, influenced by the captivating landscapes of her family's South Devon cottage. It delves into themes of love and loss, pain, longing, and joy. The poem reflects on the 9/11 tragedy and its aftermath, offering a portrayal of those who perished alongside strangers. Lancing's work is deeply emotive and metaphorical, evoking profound human emotions and reactions.
Christabel Lancing holds a Master’s degree with Honors in History of Art and is a graduate journalist who has conducted research for renowned investigative journalist and author Mark Hollingsworth. She is certified to teach both English as a Foreign Language and Business English. Previously a member of the celebrated Huddersfield Choral Society for many years, she has recently returned to London.
