The story is about a typical South African family and their life amidst daily sufferings and hardships. The author is a Literature and Psychology graduate and is an avid reader and poetry writer. She was the award winner for short story competition as well. Being born and raised in Kimberley, South Africa, during the apartheid era, Noorie recounts her real experiences and stories in the book.
