Tales of a Cordbetan: Introduction

The War for Power erupted when the Cordbetans and Ordbetans joined forces with the monsters against the Hics, Lacertus, Nosh, and Krumberland men in a bid to seize control over the High World and bring order to the realm. This act ignited a war between the two kingdoms, culminating in Cordbeta’s victory at the battle of Fallen Sand, granting them access to the superior potions. The King, having consumed the Forever potion, gained the power to create an endless army of men. With time as his only constraint, he set his sights on conquering the world. Instead of honouring his agreement to free the magicians, the King ordered their execution. However, one magician managed to escape through the wall, disguising himself as a guard. Though wounded, he reached his homeland and entrusted his son with the potion recipes, imploring him to wait until he was older and wiser before presenting them to the King. Until then, the magician’s son was to keep the recipes hidden, lest he be compelled to return them to the King of Cordbeta due to their alliance. Ordbeta, in desperate need of allies, turned to the Lorem special soldiers for assistance in their quest to gather the ingredients once more and challenge the Cordbetan king’s growing power.

Zeeglit's Quest

Zeeglit is a young moogle. And what, you may ask, is a moogle? Well, moogles live on the three layers of the clouds. Zeeglit and his family live on the Nimbostratus, the lowest of these layers, and our story begins with a prophecy of travel and danger.

A short while later our hero sets out on a quest travelling between the cloud layers via moonbeams, ice surfing with new friends, taking a thrilling ride on the jet stream and meeting many strange and weird creatures – some friendly, some not!

However, his real troubles begin when he meets the notorious thordites who also live in the cloud lands. Zeeglit suddenly finds himself leading a daring rescue mission for moogles kidnapped by the enemy.

‘Now!’ yelled Zeeglit as the sun reached its peak and beams of light bounced off each jewelled face and reflected in the deep crystal water below. Coils of rope snaked their way from above into the cavern and as if one, the moogles below stood and advanced towards them.
