Stepping Stones
Stepping Stones, as its title suggests, leads the reader on a haphazard and unpredictable route across a landscape of different topics and themes and emotions through its 60 poems. A quarter of these, which emerged from the first lockdown in 2020, reflect the impact of that time – a personal response exploring a personal emotional turmoil but which will have a generic, universal resonance. The poems appear in alphabetical order, each one a stepping stone to the next, not taking any logical direction or following any defined route – except to take you to the final poem, which leaves the pathway of those stepping stones open to follow another journey, perhaps, or to retrace those steps and ponder ... The title poem, which appears towards the end of the collection, provides something of an explanation for that order as well as offering a wider perspective. This is an inspirational and assured collection of poems which can be followed via those ‘stepping stones’ in a single read or trodden at random, letting pages open where they will, and offering whichever one of the stepping stones appears. It is a book of poems to be picked up again and again, for comfort, for escape, for finding something familiar in an unfamiliar world.

Sleepless Nights
The angels reject me
So, the demons hug me
A deal with the devil
To love me; for I no longer fear peril
Gifting my soul away
My black heart he prudently conveys
The angels see their abandonment and mistake
But let their minds regretfully contemplate
For now, the devil lovingly hates me
Protecting and indulging; he allowed me to see
To fall in love with the darkness,
It was truly the angels who made me heartless…

Sixty Poems @ 60
This powerful and moving collection of sixty poems written chronologically over a period of one year when the author was 60 provides an illuminating and observational reflection of day-to-day life in a mixture of lighter and more serious works. The rhyming style creates an immersive feel to the work, while the prose-led pieces stand out in their difference. The striking honesty of the work allows the reader to act as a travelling friend or a confidant rather than an audience as they are drawn deeper into the author’s personal reflections. They were written in different parts of the world, including the USA, the United Kingdom and, of course, South Africa.

Selah - Encounters
This book is a collection of the writer’s thoughts and expressions. Written during a tough time of COVID 19 lockdown, the writer has put on paper an internal dialogue. Hopefully she can share these with you the reader, encourage you, as she has found solace. Her message is, take heart, even during these increasingly challenging times, be hopeful.
In every difficulty there is often a glimmer of light, that will come through even when it appears darkest. This collection of thoughts is hopefully that place where you can sit within the sentiments of the writer and be strengthened and encounter that glimmer of light. And just when you least expect, there will appear joy, peace, courage and a new perception, even in the midst of life’s current challenges and uncertainty.
This book is a reflection in the stillness and how from this sense of isolation and disruptions can create a blossoming of the peaceful “lotus flower”. Beauty can arise again!

Scintillata Nee
Scintillata Nee is an extraordinary, experimental volume of verse by young author Cynthia Tenor. While the poems take the reader through the development of a personal relationship, the text is expressed in highly unusual terms: words are often chosen for their sound and/or etymology and rather than for their more obvious meaning. Strange and imaginative coinings of new words are dotted throughout the text, while many of the poems also include deliberate archaisms to evoke the history of English literature.
The collection ends with a handful of original Greek poems (along with their English translations), reflecting the author’s background.£3.50
