The Angel of Death

By day, Alan is a friendly, charming, handsome insurance salesman, selling equity release plans to retired middle-class couples. By night, Alan becomes the ‘Angel of Death’, wreaking his twisted vengeance on such happy couples.

Alan seeks fame. He wants to be the most famous murderer in history – so he hammers a wooden stake into the hearts of his victims and draws a crude picture of an avenging angel on their chests. He sends a letter to the local paper stating his grand plan – to kill one victim per week. He wears full PPE clothing and leaves no trace. Without evidence, he reasons, he is safe.

The police call in a specialist criminal profiler on loan from the FBI. He assists the local police to discover a prime suspect. Meantime, Alan falls in love and has to reconsider his future. Lady Luck intervenes.

The Apricot Tree

The Armadillo

The book concerns the fate of an Armadillo sadly overcome by an earthquake in the Amazonian Jungle.  On arrival at the Pearly Gates, he is weighed on the Heavenly Scales of Justice to determine his future in the hereafter.  Astonishingly, the Scales remain in the neutral position.  Never has this happened save for perhaps the Phoenix back in the time of Zeus.

How is the All-Wise to resolve this problem Destiny has set?  Clearly a Holy Commission is required consisting of Angels of the Celestial Service.  After extensive interrogation of the Armadillo about the living conditions in the Amazon Basin they decide they must go and see for themselves.

Will the Armadillo be admitted to the Everlasting Pastures of Heaven or consigned to the less agreeable environs of Outer Darkness?

The story revolves around the amazing exploits of a very special young man who was born in Tuchola, Poland, on the stroke of midnight on December 31st, 1900. He was born Tomas Tomaschevski, a farm boy who had a dream. In 1914, World War One broke out and he left the family farm to make his fortune in Moscow but fate took him to St Petersburg and involvement in the Russian Revolution. He fled to Wales in fear of his and his sweetheart’s lives with the help of some heroic characters and makes his home in Oakdale where he assumes the name of Thomas.
