Alison’s Country Kitchen hosted ‘Meet the author event’ for Kenneth B. Senar
The ‘Meet the Author’ event was arranged at Alison’s Country Kitchen in honour of the book ‘I’ll Call You Pod’ by Kenneth B. Senar.
The book is an autobiography which covers the era of the 1950’s when there was no record of the official RAF history of Cold War in Germany. The author tells us the stories which he could remember from the time when he served as the part of the RAF’s 2nd allied tactical Airforce.
Taking help from his logbooks, the author tries to reshape the memories of the War from the perspective of a Flight Lieutenant. He recalls the time when he used to fly the jet fighters closer to the borders of East Germany. These facts make the book very informative about aircraft, the Cold War era as seen through the eye of a Pilot on the radar. The book most importantly highlights the life of a Pilot in Her Majesty’s Royal Air Force in the mid-twentieth century.
The author, Kenneth B. Senar was born in the Wirral and he got educated in the Birkenhead School. He joined the combined cadet force and after finishing the school, he spent some time on a farm in Shropshire. He gained some experience in Agriculture before joining the Royal Air Force and after being invalidated out of Air Force in 1958, he joined his father’s engineering business and later on worked with many firms. His interests include genealogy, travelling, research and writing.
