An Author Event for Mary Valentich for her Upcoming Debut was Conducted
Mary Valentich conducted a book signing event at the Owls Nest Bookstore on 27th April 2022, with around 37 attendees at the auspicious event. She sold 26 copies of her new book, Fighting for Hanne. This had been the first in-person event in the last two years for the respective book store.
Fighting for Hanne revolves around the tale of Hanne Schafer. Hanne was 63 years old when she retired from a mental health clinic, where she worked as a psychologist for the past 30 years. After retirement, she had plans for pursuing her passions such as dancing, hiking, travelling, and socializing, whilst she got diagnosed with ALS. A dreadful ailment that caused her muscles to deteriorate and caused difficulty breathing, eating, reading, and writing. Her partner Daniel and her best friend Mary helped her cope with the dire situation all along. The story also highlights procedures and pointers of the Canadian Assisted Dying Legislation Bill 2016. A page-turner and heart-touching tale, it’s a must-read for people who know Lou Gehrig’s patients in real life.
