The story of From Wellies and Chapped Legs to Brogues is about a boy David who lives a miserable life with his alcoholic mother. At the tender age of ten, he is going through the tough times of life. He has only two true friends, Rebecca and Hobo. After losing his mother in Christmas Period, devasted by life events he escapes with his friend Hobo. David is sent to Hobo’s home in South Coast where he learns about Hobo’s story from his brother which changes his life completely. After overcoming many challenges and sufferings, he finally gets back to Rebecca.
The author Madeleine Wilson loved writing stories and in her late 70s, she decided to write her most awaited book From the Wellies and Chapped Legs to Brogues.
