Bethan Jones Interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire
Bethan Jones was interviewed on the Phil Kennedy Show for BBC Radio Berkshire for her book, Marian, on 26th July 2022. The radio talk reveals numerous facts about her personal life and the turmoil she underwent during the editing of this book due to her chronic illness.
Marian is a book based on the actual medieval era in Nottingham. Instead of featuring Robin Hood as the main character, she has brought forth the feminist Marian to centerstage for a change. Legends of Robin Hood have revered their head in billions of stories for eons, but the strong character of his female comrade Marian was never given full homage for her bravery and selflessness in helping the poor up till now. With the appointment of a new sheriff and new rule of the mischievous Prince John in her town of Nottingham, Marian’s work becomes more treacherous.
Bethan Jones is obsessed with the research of the medieval era of England. Despite her illness, she used the speech-to-text app and edited her book. She brought out her miserable past of Marian, and her transformation from a vulnerable girl into a leader and the savior of the poor.
