Rachel Sayers, the author of My Friend at School, recently appeared for a talk on 5 News. 5 News is a News Channel which covers key events of the day—both national and international. In her conversation, Rachel discussed her book, racism and the unsettling conversations about race. Commenting on the motive behind writing My Friend at School, she said, “it’s a way that you can start to have these conversations in a really relaxed setting with children.” She expressed her hope that more of us could be like children who “may see colour on the outside but they don’t see it as a barrier” and this attitude could solve a lot of our issues.
