Our very own Nanny Sue and her children’s book ‘Jack, the Pirate with a Secret’ got featured by Leek Life. The feature talks about Nanny’s journey of writing her debut book. It said, “Sue, who is a retired primary school teacher and former librarian at Leek Library, has seen her book travelling across the world to Italy where former Moorlands teacher Stephen Ryder is using it in his classes at Bambi e Bambi Scuola school in Verona.”

Jack, the Pirate with a Secret is the story of a young pirate named Jack. He loves to go on sea adventures in his ship which he has named The Mucky Duck. Jack is a courageous and charming boy, but he has a secret. Because of his courage, his crew members look up to him for inspiration and guidance. One day, while they are out in the sea, they are hit by a storm. Can Jack steer his ship out of the storm and take the crew to a safe place? Will anyone ever know about Jack’s secret?
