Cinemontage has featured a review of Movers and Shakers, The Monster Makers by Tariq Anwar and shared the background and credits of a long term film editor which provided perspective for the book. The feature stated that the protagonist of the book Ed Symos is alter ego of Tariq. It shared some of the interesting aspects of the book and share the sardonic tone of the text.

Movers and Shakers, The Monster Makers is an interesting fictional account of the film industry as seen through the eyes of an experienced film editor. Although the narratives of the book are entirely fictitious but are greatly inspired by the real-life experiences of the author who has also worked as film-editor for over three decades.

Tariq Anwar was born in India but came to England when he was just five years old. He studied at Sir John Cass College and started working in the film and television industry just a year later. He has been nominated for several awards and acknowledgements. He was also awarded British Academy Film and Television Awards.
