David Ian Groves’s book ‘The Plagues' Protocol’ featured on science.org.au Reading List. A brief synopsis of the book and cover of the book is shared on the featured recommended list. The book is featured at the top of page 9 of Annual Fellows’ Christmas Reading List 2018.
The book is set in 2023 when a series of unusual nasty events that appear to mimic the biblical plagues break out in significant locations in the USA. The US law-enforcement agencies suspect that they are linked to religious terrorism, but cannot uncover the criminals or their motive. The plague starts to spreads across the globe still without a clue about perpetrators. While the public and media are in panic would the government agencies be able to take control of the situation before it’s too late?
British born David was educated at Varndean Grammar School in Brighton, England before he migrated to Australia. He holds a PhD degree from the University of Tasmania and is a Professor and Director of a major research Centre, at the University of Western Australia. He has won numerous medals and awards for his research and research publications in Economic Geology, including papers in the prestigious journal Nature and Scientific American. He was awarded an Honorary DSc from the University of Western Australia and was elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science. As Emeritus Professor, he commenced writing novels with his first published work being The Digital Apocalypse. Naughty in Pink is his first children’s novel.
